xAI expands Grok Bot access to all SuperGrok and Cursor Pro/Teams plans

xAI is widening access to Grok Bot, its autonomous AI-agent product, bundling it into every SuperGrok tier plus Cursor Pro, Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Teams plans, just two weeks after the product's public beta launch.

What's new

Grok Bot launched in beta on August 11. In its update, xAI says "people who tried Grok Bot were surprised at how easy it was to start, and how much sharper Bots felt than other AI tools, taking jobs further without being walked through every step." The company writes: "Today, we're expanding access to Grok Bot. Grok Bot is now included with all SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and Cursor Teams plans." Specifically, that now covers SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Pro, Cursor Pro+, Cursor Ultra, and both Standard and Premium Cursor Teams plans. Grok Bot usage is metered separately from a subscriber's existing Grok or Cursor usage, so delegating work to a Bot doesn't draw down the underlying plan's normal allotment.

Grok Bot is pitched as a persistent digital teammate rather than a chat assistant: it runs on its own always-on cloud computer with browser and terminal access, signs into a user's actual apps to do the work there instead of drafting suggestions in a chat window, supports a "text-thread" interface a user can message like a coworker, and can be set up to learn a routine by watching a person do it once. xAI lists example jobs Bots are already handling, including sales prospecting and outreach drafting, building and deploying full websites, auditing and decluttering inboxes and subscriptions, processing routine customer refunds within policy, and sitting in on meetings a user can't attend. Enterprise customers can join a waitlist for larger team rollouts.

Context

The expansion lands amid a fast-moving few weeks for xAI's coding and agent push: the company shipped Grok 4.6 in mid-August with a focus on long-running agentic and coding work, brought it to GitHub Copilot, and has been rolling Grok 4.6 out across third-party platforms including Amazon Bedrock, Google's Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and Microsoft Foundry. Bundling Grok Bot directly into Cursor's paid tiers — alongside SuperGrok — ties the agent product to one of the most widely used AI coding editors, expanding its reach well beyond xAI's own subscriber base.

Why it matters

Moving Grok Bot from a beta feature to a default inclusion across xAI's and Cursor's paid plans, less than three weeks after launch, signals confidence in early usage and puts real competitive pressure on other "always-on agent" products from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. Bundling it into Cursor specifically also matters given the current friction between OpenAI and Cursor's new owner SpaceX: as xAI and Cursor push agent access together, the coding-tool ecosystem is visibly realigning around which model providers get default distribution inside the editors developers already use daily.
