Runway launches a Team plan with pooled credits and shared projects
Runway has launched Team, a new subscription tier built for groups of creators working together, with shared project storage, a pooled monthly credit balance, and collaboration tools layered on top of its existing individual plans.
What's new
Team gives every seat access to shared projects — up to 100 of them — where assets, references, Brand Kits, sessions, and workflows live in one place the whole team can see. Rather than each person drawing from an individual credit allotment, each seat contributes 6,900 credits a month into a single pooled balance, with monthly rollover for unused credits. The plan also adds in-context collaboration: teammates can comment directly on any generation and @mention each other to pull someone into a note without leaving the app. Teams can share up to 20 agent skills, and Agent Connectors bring Figma, Dropbox, and Notion directly into Runway's creative agent. The plan includes 1TB of storage.
Pricing is $69 per seat per month, or $55 per seat per month billed annually — a 20% discount — for teams of 2 to 9 seats. Larger teams needing more seats or advanced requirements are directed to Runway's enterprise options.
Runway frames the pooled-asset structure as a consistency play as much as a cost one: "When everyone generates from the same references and the same Brand Kits, the tenth video looks like it came from the same team as the first."
Context
Runway has been pushing beyond single-user generation tools toward positioning itself as a production platform for teams — Brand Kits, agent skills, and third-party connectors (Figma, Dropbox, Notion) are all pieces of that shift, aimed at studios and marketing teams producing AI video and image content at volume rather than individual hobbyist creators. A pooled-credit team plan is a standard SaaS move once a product's usage is metered per-generation: it removes the friction of tracking who's using how much of an individual allotment and replaces it with a shared budget a team manager controls.
Why it matters
The launch is a signal of where Runway sees its growth: not in convincing more individuals to sign up, but in getting studios, agencies, and internal creative teams to standardize on it as shared infrastructure. Pooled credits and shared Brand Kits make Runway stickier for a team once adopted — assets and style consistency become tied to the platform itself, raising the switching cost versus a competitor. At $55–69 per seat, the pricing sits well above Runway's individual tiers, suggesting the company is betting that teams will pay a premium for collaboration and consistency features that a single-user plan can't offer.
