Vibe ships in three modes, each targeting a different use case:

Work -- a productivity layer for web and mobile, featuring:

• Libraries: document and knowledge stores
• Scheduled tasks

Code -- a developer environment with three surfaces:

• Vibe CLI for terminal-based coding workflows

Chat -- preserves the legacy Le Chat experience for users who rely on existing workflows

Context

Mistral has been assembling the Vibe building blocks over the past several months. In May 2026, the company released Mistral Medium 3.5 -- a 128B open-weight coding model -- and introduced cloud remote agents as an early preview within the Vibe infrastructure. The May 28 changelog entry marks the full public launch of the integrated platform.

Le Chat, Mistral's previous consumer product, was one of Europe's most-used AI chat interfaces. Vibe is its successor and represents a significant scope expansion: from a chat interface to an agentic workspace.
