Cursor launches Google Workspace plugins for Gmail, Drive, and Calendar
Cursor has launched three Google Workspace plugins — for Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar — that let its coding agents read, write, and act on a developer's email, files, and schedule without leaving the editor. The plugins are generally available now through the Cursor Marketplace.

Cursor summarizes the release directly: "Cursor can now read, write, and act across your Google Workspace." The three plugins each cover a different Workspace surface: Google Drive adds file search, access, and organization; Gmail adds message management, drafting, and label application; and Google Calendar adds schedule viewing and event management. Developers install them from the Cursor Marketplace or the Customize page inside Cursor itself.
The practical effect is that a coding agent working inside Cursor can now pull context, draft and update files, and manage your inbox and calendar without leaving Cursor, rather than requiring a developer to tab out to Gmail or Drive to gather information the agent needs, or to act on what it produces. That includes tasks like drafting a status email summarizing a completed task, pulling a spec document out of Drive to ground a coding task, or checking calendar availability before scheduling a deploy.
Context
Cursor has been steadily expanding what its agents can reach beyond the codebase itself — the changelog shows a Slack integration update on July 17 that lets agents share plans and work across channels, and a Cursor Router feature on July 22 for choosing between "Intelligence," "Balance," and "Cost" model-routing modes. The Google Workspace plugins extend that same pattern of connecting the coding agent to the tools developers already use for communication and documentation, following the broader industry shift toward agentic coding tools that act across a developer's full workflow rather than staying confined to the editor and terminal.
Why it matters
Coding agents are increasingly judged on how much of a developer's actual workflow they can absorb, not just how well they write code — pulling requirements from a doc, checking in with a teammate over Slack, or sending a status update are all steps that otherwise interrupt an agent-driven session and pull the developer back into manual work. By making Gmail, Drive, and Calendar first-class plugin targets, Cursor is competing on workflow breadth against rivals like GitHub Copilot and Replit's agent tooling, which are making similar moves to extend agents past pure code generation. It's an incremental integration rather than a new model or a pricing change, but it's a concrete signal of where agentic coding tools are racing next: owning more of the surrounding workflow, not just the code.
