Cognizant becomes Global Premier Partner in Claude Partner Network, embeds Claude across internal platforms
Anthropic and Cognizant announced an expanded partnership on July 27 that moves Claude from a tool Cognizant deploys for clients into infrastructure embedded across Cognizant's own internal engineering and business platforms.
What's new
As Anthropic describes it: "Cognizant uses Claude in the systems it builds and runs for clients across manufacturing, life sciences, insurance, and other industries. With the expansion of our partnership, it's embedding Claude across its own business and engineering platforms, scaling a Claude-certified workforce as part of its new Frontier Certified workforce model, and becoming a Global Premier Partner in the Claude Partner Network."
Concretely, Claude is going into three of Cognizant's core platforms: Flowsource, Neuro AI Engineering, and Neuro IT Ops, with Claude Code specifically wired into Cognizant's Spec-Driven Development workflows. On the workforce side, more than 30,000 Cognizant associates have completed Claude training under the new Frontier Certified program.
Anthropic and Cognizant point to three concrete deployment results from the existing partnership: a customer-experience portal built for a global manufacturer in six months; a contract-intelligence system that cuts contract review time by up to 40 percent while holding extraction accuracy above 88 percent; and a risk-navigation tool for insurance underwriters that saves roughly eight hours per person per week.
Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar S framed the deal around a capability-adoption gap: "AI capability is rising faster than enterprises can absorb it, and that gap is the defining problem of this moment." Anthropic co-founder Daniela Amodei said the expanded partnership is meant to help "more companies harness AI's growing capability."
Context
Cognizant and Anthropic's partnership dates to late 2025; this expansion is a significant step up in both scope and formal status, with Cognizant now holding Global Premier standing inside the Claude Partner Network — Anthropic's tier system for systems integrators and consultancies building on Claude. The move follows a broader pattern of Anthropic deepening ties with large IT services and consulting firms as a distribution channel into regulated industries — manufacturing, life sciences, insurance — where enterprises typically buy AI capability through an integrator rather than building directly on a model API.
Why it matters
For Anthropic, Cognizant's scale — tens of thousands of trained associates, deployments already running in regulated verticals — gives Claude a foothold in enterprise environments that are typically the hardest for AI labs to reach directly, since they run through long procurement cycles and demand vertical-specific integration work most model providers don't build themselves. For Cognizant, formal Global Premier status and a large trained Claude workforce is a competitive claim aimed squarely at rival integrators like Accenture and Deloitte, who are running comparable AI-certification pushes with OpenAI and other model providers. The specific efficiency numbers — 40 percent faster contract review, eight hours saved per underwriter per week — are the kind of concrete ROI data enterprise buyers increasingly demand before greenlighting AI deployments at scale, and give Cognizant sales material it can point to beyond generic AI-adoption promises.
