Claude Fable 5.1 becomes available on Amazon Bedrock and AWS

Anthropic's newly released Claude Fable 5.1 model is now available through Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS, giving AWS customers direct access to the frontier model launched a day earlier.

AWS confirmed the rollout in a Machine Learning Blog post published September 1, 2026: "Today, we're excited to announce the availability of Claude Fable 5.1 on Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. Claude Fable 5.1 delivers frontier intelligence for ambitious tasks across coding, scientific research, and enterprise workflows."

According to AWS, the model is live today on Amazon Bedrock through the US Geo CRIS (us.) and Global CRIS (global.) inference profiles, and in AWS GovCloud (US) it is reachable through both the bedrock-runtime and bedrock-mantle endpoints. AWS also notes that because of its capabilities, Anthropic has designated Fable 5.1 a "Covered Model" — a category of Claude models that carry additional data retention, safety review, and access policies wherever they're offered — and links out to Bedrock's abuse-detection documentation and Anthropic's Covered Models page for details.
