Anthropic launches Claude for Financial Advisors with Schwab, BlackRock and Addepar connectors
Anthropic released Claude for Financial Advisors on September 14, 2026, a plugin bundling connectors to major custodians, portfolio platforms and CRMs with workflow skills built around a financial advisor's daily work. It is available today to Claude Cowork Enterprise customers through the Cowork plugin browser.
What's new
Anthropic's own announcement frames the release around advisor time: "Financial advisors can now connect Claude to the custodians, portfolio platforms, CRMs, and planning tools they depend on, along with new skills tailored to the daily work of a financial advisor."
The plugin ships with connectors to:
- Charles Schwab — custodial data including balances, positions, transactions, cost basis, alerts, and money-movement status
- BlackRock — portfolio construction expertise, model portfolios, and institutional analytics via Advisor Center
- Addepar — governed access to portfolio data, analytics, and workflows across public and private markets
- Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, SS&C Black Diamond, Wealthbox, Wealth.com, Vanguard, and Zocks
These join Claude's existing connectors to Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, FactSet, S&P Global, and Morningstar.
On top of the connectors, the plugin adds ready-to-run advisor workflows — client onboarding, meeting prep and follow-up, account opening, portfolio reviews, proposals, and compliance reviews — with review steps and an audit trail built in.
Josh Brown, CEO of Ritholtz Wealth Management, is quoted in coverage of the launch: "Claude for Financial Advisors is the first thing I've seen that sits on top of the whole stack and does that work across it, with the compliance controls we need built in."
The product requires Claude Cowork plus the Financial Advisors plugin, which Anthropic offers free; Cowork itself has been reported in the $70 to $120 per user, per month range.
Context
Anthropic has been building out Claude for Financial Services since late 2025, including an Excel add-in, connectors to LSEG market data, Moody's credit research, and MT Newswires, plus a partnership with Salesforce to integrate Claude into Agentforce for financial services. That earlier push targeted research analysts and back-office workflows. Claude for Financial Advisors narrows the focus specifically to advisor-facing work — the meeting prep, documentation, and client communication that sits between an advisor and their book of business.
Why it matters
Anthropic is citing a real time-allocation problem: a typical advisory practice spends only a fraction of its time in client meetings, with the rest going to piecing together information across disconnected systems. By wiring Claude directly into the custodians and portfolio platforms advisors already use, Anthropic is betting that removing that friction, rather than adding a new standalone tool, is what drives adoption in a compliance-heavy vertical. It also sharpens the competition with OpenAI's own push into enterprise financial services, putting Anthropic's audit-trail and review-step framing front and center as the differentiator for a market where regulators, not just users, have to be satisfied.
